Joel Pliskin

Joel began his career in high-technology engineering, marketing and sales in 1979 as a hardware development engineer with Hewlett Packard Corp. He has over four years of hardware design experience and has held engineering positions at several Silicon Valley companies. In 1983 he became a Project Manager and Sales Training Specialist for Apple Computer, Inc. He left Apple in 1985 to manage new product development and international markets for Blyth Software, Inc., developer of the Omnis® line of relational database products. He returned to Apple Europe in 1987 as New Markets Development Manager and, later, Strategic Accounts Manager, based at Apple's Paris, France, office. There he managed several multinational accounts including Renault, Euro Disney, EDS, KPMG and Tetra Pak. In addition, he managed Apple's European introduction of multimedia technology, working directly with major corporations in automotive, aerospace and civil aviation.

Prior to forming WorldServer, he designed and implemented databases for several small businesses as well as consulting on communications policy projects at the Rand Corporation. He has written and published several articles relating to the future of networking, e-mail, and electronic communications, including a major new study by RAND, "Universal Access to E-Mail: Feasibility and Societal Implications" .

Joel Pliskin has a BS in Computer Science, an MS in Electrical Engineering and an MBA. He speaks French and German fluently and has traveled extensively and lived abroad. He is 41 years old, lives in San Francisco, and is a musician, a volleyball player and a certified scuba diver.


Joseph Cychosz

Joe began his career sixteen years ago as a Systems Analyst for Control Data Corporation where he was responsible for developing software for and direct support of a number of Control Data customers, including Caterpillar, Indiana State University, Fermilab, Aeritalia, and Purdue University. He later established a computer consulting firm which provides systems integration and product development for small companies. As President of Behind the Scenes Software, Inc., Joe has over ten years of experience in product development and integration of UNIX-based workstations and Apple Macintosh systems. His most recent work has been as co-architect and developer of a Hierachial Storage Management (HSM) system capable of storing several terabytes of data with complete autonomous operation.

Joe is an Adjunct Professor of Mechanical Engineering and a research staff member at Purdue University's Computer Aided Design and Graphics Lab and the Center for Collaborative Manufacturing. He has been the manager of the lab's computer systems since 1986 and has participated in state-of-the-art computer graphics research projects since 1981. He has published several articles on computer graphics and co-authored contributions in the Graphics Gems series.

Joe Cychosz has a BSEE from the University of Illinois and a MSE from Purdue University. He is a member of SIGGRAPH and the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. He is 39 years old, lives in Lafayette, Indiana, and enjoys white water rafting, travel, music and cooking.


Gail Baral

Gail has fourteen years of experience in apparel design, marketing and management and has worked for several apparel companies including Geoffery Beene Sportswear, Basco All American Sportswear and the Associated Merchandising Corporation. As a senior executive in charge of design, merchandising and production, she has managed domestic and international design and production staffs and has traveled extensively around the world to design products and select reliable sources of production.

Prior to joining WorldServer, she was a partner and the President and Chief Operating Officer of Putumayo, Inc. which is a specialty retailer and wholesaler that designs and markets contemporary women's apparel and accessories. In addition, the company recently established a record label called Putumayo World Music which features compilations of music performed by world and folk musicians. Gail was responsible for the daily operations of both divisions as well as long term strategic planning, marketing and design.

Gail Baral is 37 years old and has a BS in Marketing and Management. She lives in Los Angeles and is an avid skier, photographer and traveler.


Jeffrey A. Galvin

Jeff possesses over fifteen years of technical and management experience in the computer industry. He earned his BA degree in Economics from Harvard and, while in school, taught numerous computer science and statistical courses in the Harvard undergraduate program. He eventually became Head Teaching Fellow,. supervising a staff of 30.

After graduation, in 1980, Jeff began his career as a Software Reliability Engineer in the Computer Systems Division of Hewlett-Packard. In 1982, he joined Apple Computer, Inc. as Training and Support Manager in the Lisa Product Division. In this position, he gained extensive international experience and played a key role in the launch of the Lisa computer in Europe, Latin America, and the Pacific Rim. Jeff later became International Product Marketing Manager for Apple where he managed a group within the International Sales Division to implement a sales strategy for Macintosh and Lisa computers within the Pacific Rim, Latin America, Africa, and Canada. Jeff later became Vice President of Sales for Blyth Software, Inc. (the U.S. subsidiary of Blyth Software Ltd., developer of the Omnis line of database products.) He later advanced to the position of Vice President of Sales and Marketing, where he managed the successful launch and sales of a multi-user database. In 1987, Jeff left Blyth and began independent consulting for such clients as Apple Computer and Claris Corporation.

In 1991 Jeff founded Galvin Publishing, which develops, produces, and packages educational videotapes which illustrate popular computer software products. Galvin Publishing distributes internally developed products as well as videotape products from other companies through direct ads in major computer publications and a nationwide dealer channel. Jeff is also a partner and Vice President of Engineering at Argus Software, which develops, markets and distributes Quality Assurance and Automation software tools for the healthcare industry.

Jeff lives in Redwood City, CA and is 37years old.
